The International Linguistics Olympiad (IOL) is an annual competition that brings together high school students from around the world to test their skills in linguistic analysis and problem-solving.
The selection of the Thai national team for the International Linguistics Olympiad (IOL) is conducted through the Thailand Linguistics Olympiad (TOL), which is organized by the Promotion of Academic Olympiad and Development of Science Education Foundation (POSN) in collaboration with the Department of Linguistics, Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University.
The Thailand Linguistics Olympiad (TOL) aims to promote knowledge and understanding of linguistics on a wider scale and to foster a love for the subject among students across the country through engaging and challenging linguistic puzzles.
Thailand’s participation in the International Linguistics Olympiad (IOL) not only showcases the linguistic abilities of Thai students but also helps promote the study and interest in linguistics at a national level.
